Making The Choice
Thank you for visiting this site. There are not many pictures available being Nefarious is still young. I know that in starting to raise a Monitor there are many questions. I sure do not have all the answers, but I may be of some assistance. At least I hope I can. Thank you for your time and patience. Gene
Welcome to the Life of Nefarious
You may think that a Nile Monitor would be a perfect pet. Just put it in a cage and feed once or twice a week. There is much more to their care than that. First off I am a Fire Fighter, I work 24hr shifts. In caring for Nefarious this is not a problem. He is a pet that is self sustaining. When you make the decision to raise a Nile Monitor it is for 10 to 15 years. They are agressive and very tempermental. And a bite from one does hurt. At the same time Nile Monitors are timid and tend to hide. I can say that of all the pets I have ever owned he is the most intersting and popular. Every person wants to see the "Lizard".

Young Age
As I said before Nefarious is still young. I have owned him for about 3 months. In that time he has doubled if not tripled in size. His appitite increases each and every week. One important item that I obtained from another site is not to feed him anything larger than his head. For they do not dislocate thier like a snake and it could cause harm to him. You cannot overfeed him. He will not eat more than he wants.
